Valuation Protocols, Standards Articles and Legal Case Notes
From time to time the API will prepare and issue a Valuation Protocol, Standards Article or a Legal Case Note. These papers and articles will deal with concepts and principles, or specific topics and issues, and are intended to provide members with guidance and direction on how to deal with, and in some cases aid interpretation of, issues or specific topics.
A Valuation Protocol or Standards Article may operate for a limited time or be in place for an extended or indefinite period. It is the member’s responsibility to be alert to the currency of any papers or articles published by the API. If a Valuation Protocol or Standards Article is revised, updated, and republished, the previous article will be withdrawn by the API.
The API may also from time to time release a Legal Case Note.
The purpose of a Legal Case Note, prepared and issued by the API is primarily to highlight findings and judgements by Courts and or other legal professional views from appropriate authors having regard to a court’s findings and judgements. These Legal Case Notes may require Members to have regard to such findings and judgements, when providing professional services. They are not intended to be a detailed description of all the facts and legal reasoning of a case or other professional’s view of such case.
Members who have any uncertainty about what is meant to be conveyed by a Valuation Protocol, Standards Article or Legal Case Note, must seek legal or other expert advice prior to relying upon such papers or articles.
Current and withdrawn papers are hosted on the pages below under the respective topics.
