Event and Webinar Terms

These Event and Webinar Terms govern your purchase of registration for, attendance at events and live/recording content held by the Australian Property Institute. It is your responsibility to review these Terms prior to the purchase of registration. By purchasing registration/s you agree to be bound by these Terms. We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time and will provide the most recent version on our website.

1. Event registrations
  1. All standard conference registrations will close five business days prior to the commencement of the event, while standard registrations for all other events and webinars will close at 9.30am EST the morning of the webinar date; unless otherwise specified on the event registration webpage.
  2. Where an earlybird event registration option is available, registrations must be booked and paid for by 11.59pm the night of the closing date on the advertised earlybird closing date in order for an attendee to be eligible for the advertised ‘earlybird’ rate for an event. If payment is not received prior to the earlybird registration closing date, the attendee will be charged the standard rate for the event.
  3. Late registrations (i.e. after standard registration close date) may be accepted, at the discretion of the Event Manager; a late fee of $25 may be charged.
  4. If the situation arises where more than the maximum number of attendees registers for an event, API will give preference to API members in order of receipt of registration. All attendees who cannot be accommodated will be advised via email or telephone.
  5. Team packages are available, where specified;
    1. National Property Conference.  Register ten or more people from the same organisation and receive 5% off individual standard registration. Register twenty or more people from the same organisation and receive 10% off standard registration.
  6. Payment of registration fees is required at the time of registration, online or by telephone. All registration fees are inclusive of GST. A tax invoice will be generated and issued by email after registration for an event.
  7. Confirmation of registration will only be issued after all monies are received. Email confirmations for conferences will be sent 3 business days prior to a conference, and 1 to 2 business days prior for all other events. If you do not receive an email confirmation, please contact API to ensure your registration has been received.
  8. If registration fees are not received by the event date, at the discretion of the Event Manager; a late fee of $25 may be charged.
  9. Each registration is for one attendee only. Attendees cannot ‘share’ a registration (i.e. delegates cannot swap between sessions or days). Should multiple attendees attempt to ‘share’ a registration, attendees will need to be individually registered for the event and will be liable for any additional registration fees.
  10. An organisation cannot register for an event, an individual’s details must be provided at the time of registration.
2. Transfer of event registration
  1. Event registration is transferable to a substitute attendee or webinar content (where available) prior to registration close, without penalty. Should the transfer attract further fees (e.g. member to non-member or the nominated substitute event/webinar content is more expensive), the price difference will be invoiced and payable within five business days. There is an administrative fee of $25 involved in transferring registrations which will be waived if the transfer involves a higher registration fee.
  2. Any request for the transfer of registration is to be submitted in writing to membership@api.org.au  for approval and processing prior to the commencement of the relevant event.
3. Event registration cancellation and refunds
  1. Event registration may be cancelled and a refund issued, less a $25 administration fee, up to seven business days prior to the commencement date of the event.
  2. Cancellations received after the registration closing date (as noted in 1.1 above) will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the registration fee, however registration is transferable to a substitute attendee.
  3. Attendees who fail to attend an event without prior notification will forego the entire registration fee.
  4. Cancellation and refund requests due to exceptional circumstances (e.g. sudden illness or injury), will be considered. Such requests should be forwarded in writing, as soon as practicable, to ADD EMAIL ADDRESS.
  5. API reserves the right to cancel or postpone an event to an alternative date. All registered attendees affected by such a change will be contacted by email and offered the opportunity to transfer to the next available event or receive a full refund.
  6. In the instance of an API event being cancelled due to an unforeseeable or unanticipated reason outside API’s control, such as: acts of God, terrorism, war, civil unrest, strike or labour dispute, lack of transportation, breakdown, labour or material shortage, blockade or embargo, supplier failure, epidemic or pandemic, government restriction or recommendation, legal requirement, extreme weather, earthquake, drought, fire, flood, explosion, natural disaster, and/or any other event, cause or circumstance that is beyond our reasonable control, API will offer a full refund to the person registered for the event.
  7. Refunds for payments made by credit card will be refunded back to the credit card used to make the initial purchase. Refunds for payments made by BPAY, Cheque or EFT will be refunded by EFT.
4. Webinar recording orders
  1. Webinar content is visually recorded at the time of an event; the event date is therefore the film date. Production of the webinar content may take 7-10 business day after the film date. These timeframes should be considered when placing orders. The webinar content film date and recording release date will be specified on the API events page.
  2. Webinar recording content orders cannot be placed under an organisation. An individual’s details must be provided with the order for CPD administration purposes.
  3. A tax invoice will be generated and issued after online purchase of webinar recording content.

Where webinar recording content has been purchased, customers will be notified by email if the release of recordings is delayed.
  5. To allow for any technical issues experienced during a live webinar, all participants will be provided with access to the recording 7-10 business days after the film date. Webinars are non-refundable for any technical issues experienced by the participant during the live webinar
5. Webinar recording content cancellations and refunds
  1. Webinar recording content orders may only be cancelled and a refund issued, less a $25 administration fee, if cancellation is requested prior to the release date of the recordings.
  2. Requests for cancellation must be made within 48 hours of placing the order. Refunds will be issued on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Head of Events. Where refunds are offered, an administration fee of $25 will apply.
  3. Refunds or transfers are not available for webinar recording content that has been incorrectly purchased.
