2027 APREF Scholarship Applications are now open

The next round of scholarship applications are now open from 30 June 2026 and closes on 30 January 2027. 

 

Scholarship Details

The Advancing Women in Property scholarship promotes engaging and advancing women in the property industry through education, training, and development to ensure the property profession is a thriving option for women following a career break, who are looking to progress their career through studying an accredited degree. 

The Advancing Women in Property Scholarship is open to both commencing and continuing students. You are eligible to apply if you are: 

  • a woman following a career break who has applied, or intends to apply, for an API accredited property degree commencing in 2027; 
  • a woman following a career break who has been offered a place, or intends to enrol, in an API accredited property degree; 
  • a woman following a career break currently enrolled in another degree who wishes to transfer into an API accredited property degree; or 
  • a woman following a career break already enrolled in an API accredited property degree (a continuing student) who is making satisfactory progress and has at least one full year of study remaining.

Objective

The objective of the Scholarship is to:  

  1. Advance women in the property
  2. Advance education, training, and development in the property industry.
  3. Promote the property profession as a thriving option for women following a career break.

One scholarship for a woman applying to an API accredited degree.

Value and length of scholarships

  1. The scholarship is open to undergraduate or postgraduate course work degrees.
    1. An undergraduate who is enrolled in a three-year degree will be awarded up to a total value of $30,000 paid in instalments and to a maximum of $10,000 in any calendar year. OR
    2. A postgraduate who is enrolled in a one-year program will be awarded $10,000.
    3. The scholarship is based on full-time, flexible study and will be pro-rated for a part-time course load.
  2. Recipient will be awarded the scholarship subject to Scholarship Terms.
  3. Recipients will also have access to senior property professionals who will act as a mentors during their study.

Qualifying Conditions

*Please note – applications only open to students who have not yet commenced their accredited property degree

  1. Have taken a career break of two years or more (essential).
  2. The applicant must have applied for one of the API accredited degrees API accredited property degree.
  3. The applicant must be an Australian citizen or the holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or Australian permanent humanitarian visa.

Application process

  • Applicants are to apply by completing the API APREF 2027 Scholarships Application Form and attaching the required information.
  • Applications must be submitted by COB on 30 January 2027 to [email protected]
  • Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.

Assessment Process

  • All applications will be reviewed and assessed by the APREF Education Committee.
  • Shortlisted applicants will be notified in February 2027.
  • Applicants who are not shortlisted will be advised.
  • The APREF Education Committee will make recommendations to the APREF Board for consideration and decision on the award of the scholarships.
  • Successful applicants will be notified in March 2027 and will be required to confirm, in writing, of a university offer to commence study in an API accredited property valuation degree in 2027 and their written acceptance of that offer.
  • Applicants will be required to accept the Offer of scholarship in writing along with acceptance of the scholarship terms.
