The Tasmanian education scholarship financially supports the study of specialising in the valuation field to one (1) prospective 2026 tertiary student, either currently studying Year 12 or a mature-aged applicant.
The scholarship spans the duration of an API accredited property valuation degree, totalling a maximum term of 3-years, awarded yearly in even increments. The scholarship financially supports the awardee to pursue an API-accredited degree of their choosing, assist with payment of books and materials as well as tuition. Together with financial support, the awardee of the scholarship will also be supported by a senior API-certified property professional who will act as a mentor during their studies.
The Applicant must currently reside in Tasmania for the scholarship to be awarded.

Value and length of scholarships
- The scholarship is open to undergraduate or postgraduate course work degrees.
- An undergraduate who is enrolled in a three-year degree will be awarded up to a total value of $30,000 paid in installments and to a maximum of $10,000 in any calendar year OR
- A postgraduate who is enrolled in a one-year program will be awarded $10,000.
- The scholarship is based on full-time, flexible study and will be pro-rated for a part-time course load.
- Recipient will be awarded the scholarship subject to Scholarship Terms.
- Recipients will also have access to a property professional who will act as a mentor during their study.
Qualifying Conditions
*Please note – applications only open to students who have not yet commenced their accredited property degree
- The applicant must be accepted into one of the API accredited property valuation degrees to commence study in Semester 1, 2026.
- The applicant must be a Tasmanian resident at the time of application.
- The applicant must be an Australian citizen or the holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or Australian permanent humanitarian visa.
- For the duration of the Scholarship, the recipient must be enrolled and active in the API accredited property valuation degree, and
- As this Scholarship has been created under the APREF Education Fund, the applicant must meet one or more of the following qualification criteria:
- the scholarship applicant is disadvantaged due to poverty, sickness, suffering or disability;
- the scholarship applicant is deserving of a scholarship for reasons of merit;
- the scholarship applicant is deserving of a scholarship for other reasons of equity; or
- the scholarship applicant is deserving of a scholarship for one or more of the reasons listed in the APREF Constitution or any other reason as determined by the ATO or the Department of Education and Training’s Research and Higher Education Infrastructure Branch from time to time.
Application process
- Applicants are to apply by completing the API APREF 2026 Scholarships Application Form and attaching the required information.

- Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.

Assessment Process
- All applications will be reviewed and assessed by the APREF Education Committee.
- Shortlisted applicants will be notified in November 2025 and must be available to attend an interview in person or via video link during November 2025.
- Applicants who are not shortlisted will be advised.
- Following interviews, the APREF Education Committee will make recommendations to the APREF Board for consideration and decision on the award of the scholarships.
- Successful applicants will be notified in December 2025 and will be required to confirm, in writing, of a university offer to commence study in an API accredited property valuation degree in 2026 and their written acceptance of that offer.
- Applicants will be required to accept the Offer of scholarship in writing along with acceptance of the scholarship terms.
