The International Valuation Standards (IVS), which came into effect 31 January 2025, introduced one of the most significant structural and content changes to IVS in recent years.
To help API Valuer Members stay current, the L&D team have updated the API IVS 2025 training course to clearly reflect the scope and application of IVS in the Australian context.
Completion of the updated training course, by API Valuer Members, is strongly encouraged to ensure they understand and apply the IVS appropriately in the Australian valuation context.
Staying current and up to date with the global valuation standards is an important part of maintain competent professional practice and lift the professional standards of API Valuer Members.
Valuer Members who undertake the updated training course will benefit from:
- greater clarity on key structural changes to IVS,
- clearer application of IVS with the context of the Australian valuation profession, and
- updated guidance and explanation for the interpretation and application of IVS.
API members who completed the previous version of the training module prior to 1 July 2025 will have the updated API training course added to their My Learning portal, free of charge, including the allocation of 2 CPD points upon successful completion of the course and quiz. The updated course is titled International Valuation Standards 2025 (Complementary Amended Module).
The previous version of the API IVS 2024-2026 training module has now been renamed International Valuation Standards 2025 edition and will be shown as complete for those members who completed the previous version of the course.
