It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sam Paton, a respected leader and pioneer in the field of agribusiness valuation.

As the Principal of Sam Paton and Associates, Sam led Australia’s only dedicated National Agribusiness, Valuation, and Agricultural Economics Consultancy at the time with unwavering passion and expertise. His profound contributions to industry spanned over four decades, during which he earned a reputation for integrity, dedication, and an unparalleled depth of knowledge.

Sam held a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics from New England University and a Diploma of Valuations from RMIT University in Melbourne, credentials that underpinned his exceptional work as a Certified Practising Valuer. He was a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute, a member of the Agricultural and Resource Economics Society of Australia, and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Sam was a mentor, a colleague, and a friend to many. His contributions to the agricultural and valuation communities have left an indelible mark, and his legacy will continue to influence the industry for years to come.

Our thoughts are with Sam’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed, but his impact and memory will endure.
