We were saddened by the passing of John Del Dosso AAPI on the 16th May, 2026.

John was a construction and property industry veteran with over 42 years of experience, including valuation with a passion for DCF modelling and methodology

He commenced his career in residential and industrial construction, followed by a sabbatical in academia, where he completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Property) and a master’s in project management,

He was admitted as an API Associate member 1998 and focused his career on valuation and property consultancy, specialising in project feasibility, risk analysis, market research, and project-specific market & marketability studies.

John was known for his integrity, his considered judgement, and the authority he brought to his work. In an industry that can at times move quickly, John represented enduring characteristics – a principled approach, a strong value set, and an incredible work ethic developed early and never compromised by shortcuts. Traits that reflected his service as a senior Infantry Officer in the Australian Army Reserve, serving from 1984 to 1996.achieveing the rank of Major before retiring

John was very highly regarded, fair and steadfast as an adversary, and was generous with his time being a member of the API Professional Interview Panel.

Thank you for your contribution to the API, and the wider property profession,

Cygnet West, who he worked for over a long period, posted that “His passing was a significant loss to the firm and to the wider property industry.”

Our thoughts are with John’s family.
