Vale – Michael Richardson

The Australian Property Institute and the broader valuation community are deeply saddened by the passing of Michael Cameron Richardson (10 April 1977 – 1 February 2025). At just 47 years old, Mike’s life was one filled with warmth, dedication and an unwavering passion for his profession.
Mike, as he was fondly known, was born in Forster and educated at The Armidale School in NSW. He built a respected career as a real estate agent and valuer – work he truly loved and excelled in. After completing his Advanced Diploma of Property Valuation at TAFE in 2006, he joined the API in March 2008, achieving AAPI membership status a year later. In 2012, he proudly attained his CPV and spent the rest of his working career with Duponts, MVS and Propell in Newcastle and then Herron Todd White in Forster and surrounding areas, earning the admiration and respect of colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mike was a man with a big heart, great sense of humour and unrivalled generosity. A proud son of Molly and Don and a beloved brother to Donna, Sharon and Scott, he filled the lives of those around him with laughter and fun, with his true larrikin spirit. He cherished good company, valued his friendships deeply and never missed an opportunity to bring people together.
Mike’s presence will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, colleagues and all who had the privilege of knowing him, along with his loyal companion, Clancy the Dog.
Rest peacefully Mike, you will always be remembered.
