Annette joined Acumentis in 2005 (then Taylor Byrne) becoming Regional Director in 2018 and then State Director Regional Operations in 2020. She oversees the management of the Queensland Acumentis Regional Team comprising 11 locations whilst also, undertaking commercial, industrial, rural and residential valuations. A registered Property Valuer since 1997 with previous experience in the State Valuation Service, Annette has broad experience in conventional and specialised property valuations. Her specialties are in finance and insurance valuations, rural valuations, asset valuations for local government, valuations for taxation purposes and going concern valuations.

Annette is regularly called upon to provide valuation and advisory services for financial institutions, Family Law Court and government authorities, as well as her work with the general public having completed her Australian Institute of Company Directors Course in 2013.

Annettes professional career has also been recognised by the Australian Property Institute being the 2021 winner of the Lesley Bennet Women in Property Award.

Advancing Women in Property Scholarship

The Advancing Women in Property scholarship promotes engaging and advancing women in the property industry through education, training, and development to ensure the property profession is a thriving option for women following a career break, who are looking to progress their career through studying an accredited degree.

The Advancing Women in Property Scholarship is open to both commencing and continuing students. You are eligible to apply if you are:

a woman following a career break who has applied, or intends to apply, for an API accredited property degree commencing in 2027;

a woman following a career break who has been offered a place, or intends to enrol, in an API accredited property degree;

a woman following a career break currently enrolled in another degree who wishes to transfer into an API accredited property degree; or

a woman following a career break already enrolled in an API accredited property degree (a continuing student) who is making satisfactory progress and has at least one full year of study remaining.

The objective of the Scholarship is to:

Advance education, training, and development in the property industry
Promote the property profession as a thriving option for women following a career break

The scholarship is open to undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees and spans the duration of an API accredited property degree, totalling a maximum term of 3-years, awarded yearly at $10,000. Together with financial aid, property professional who will act as a mentor during their study.

Tasmanian Scholarship

The Tasmanian Education Scholarship supports a student residing in Tasmania to pursue study of an API accredited property degree, ultimately to become a Certified Practising Valuer in Tasmania. Open to commencing and continuing students, including Year 12 students, mature-age applicants and students transferring from another degree. “One scholarship is available, open to both commencing and continuing students.

The Scholarship supports a student to live, work and study in Tasmania, supported by the community, and industry.

The scholarship provides an amount of up to $10,000 per calendar year for each remaining year of the recipient’s API accredited property degree, paid at the same annual rate whether the recipient is a prospective or continuing student. The scholarship provides up to $10,000 per calendar year for each remaining year of the recipient’s API accredited property degree, up to a maximum total value of $30,000 over three years of full-time study. No more than $10,000 is paid in any calendar year. For example, a continuing student with one year of study remaining is eligible for up to $10,000 in total.

In addition to the financial scholarship, the recipient will be provided with access to mentors from the Tasmanian membership base, including our Young Property Professional Committee members, and State Committee members, who will provide local industry guidance, networking opportunities and exposure to the Tasmanian property market throughout their studies.

Examples of who should apply

A current Year 12 student in Tasmania who has applied for an API accredited property degree to commence the following year.
A mature-age Tasmanian resident, working in a related field, who has been offered a place in an API accredited property degree.
A Tasmanian resident (or person considering relocating to Tasmania) currently in the second year of a different degree who wishes to transfer into an API accredited property degree, or to pursue an API accredited graduate-entry property degree, in order to specialise in valuation.
A Tasmanian resident already enrolled in an API accredited property degree (a continuing student) who is making satisfactory progress and has at least one full year of study remaining. Applicants must have at least one full year of full-time study (or part-time equivalent) remaining in their degree at the time the scholarship commences.

Rural & Regional Scholarship

The Rural & Regional Scholarship financially supports the study of an API accredited property degree. The scholarship is open to commencing students. You are eligible to apply if you are:

a current Year 12 student living in a rural or regional location in mainland Australia who has applied, or intends to apply, for an API accredited property degree commencing in 2027;
a mature-age applicant living in a rural or regional location in mainland Australia who has been offered a place, or intends to enrol, in an API accredited property degree; or
a resident of a rural or regional location in mainland Australia currently enrolled in another degree who wishes to transfer into an API accredited property degree.

The scholarship fund spans the duration of an API accredited property valuation degree, totaling a maximum term of 3-years, awarded yearly at $10,000. The fund supports the awardee to relocate to a university of their choosing and assists with payment of books and materials as well as tuition. Together with financial support, the awardee of the scholarship will also be supported by a senior API-certified property professional who will act as a mentor during their studies.

The Applicant must currently reside in a rural or regional location in mainland Australia for the scholarship to be awarded.

In 2007 Dario started to pursue his career in property as a Traineer Property Valuer. During his training he became a real estate agent and worked in both property management and sales in the family business. Nicole specialises in valuations of high value dwellings and apartments; boutique, medium density residential and mixed use developments across the Metropolitan Melbourne and selected regional localities; together with purpose-built rooming houses, serviced apartments and Specialised Disability Accommodation (SDA), providing valuation services for a wide range of purposes and users. Nicole was part of the API Vic CPD Committee Member from 2019 – 2022 before she joined the API Vic State Committee in 2022, and succeeding the State Committee Chair position from 2024.

Marcia Bowden LFAPI is the Principal of Bowden Advisory Services, a Canberra-based consultancy she established in 2010, providing strategic expertise in Corporate Real Estate, Design Management, and Development Management across both the public and private sectors in the commercial property sector. Marcia also undertakes Pro bono work for various not for profits and charities in the ACT.
With a property career spanning more than 40 years, Marcia has held senior roles within the Commonwealth Public Service, NSW and ACT Public Services and acted as a trusted advisor to the Commonwealth Government through leading firms such as JLL and United Group. Since relocating to Canberra in 1994, she has remained a passionate advocate for the property profession in the ACT and beyond.
Marcia is a Life Fellow of the Australian Property Institute and former National President currently serves as Chair of the ACT State Committee. She also contributes to the future of the profession through her role on the API’s National Education Standards Committee and she is also a member of the Professional Conduct and Complaints Committee.
Marcia brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership and community focus to everything she does, and continues to be an active and valued contributor to the API and the broader property community.

Will Morris works as a Senior Analyst within the JLL Australian Retail Investments team. His comprehensive understanding of retail property fundamentals allows him to provide nuanced insights into asset performance, value drivers, and market dynamics which ultimately provided valued assistance in national shopping centre transactions. Prior to joining the Retail Capital Markets team, Will developed a strong analytical foundation as a commercial valuer, where he honed his skills in financial modeling, market analysis, and asset valuation. This experience enables him to approach transactions with a unique perspective, helping clients identify opportunity and maximise returns.

With over seven years of experience in the Australian property industry, Celestine has worked across both public and private sectors, primarily in property valuation, and has also gained experience in facilities management, project management, and asset management. Prior to joining EY, she served as a Senior Valuer at Valuation NSW, conducting statutory valuations on behalf of the Valuer General of New South Wales. Celestine’s professional trajectory is increasingly focused on specialisation within the rural sector. Her interests lie in agriculture and in exploring the strategic opportunities for real estate specialists within the mining and energy sectors – particularly where these sectors intersect with agriculture.

Anthony joined Urbis in May 2025 as part of the national Industrial Valuation & Advisory team. He provides high-quality valuation and advice to institutional, private investor, and mortgage clients. With 25 years of experience in the property development and valuation industry, Anthony specializes in the industrial markets of Brisbane, South-East Queensland, and regional areas like the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, and Toowoomba. Throughout his career, he has handled valuations for a wide range of real property classes for various purposes, including both portfolio and single-holding valuations for prominent Australian industrial businesses. He has also provided consultancy and valuation services for major infrastructure assets such as ports, airports, and intermodal rail facilities.

Before joining the Department of Revenue, Kelly, a certified practising Valuer, had spent over 16 years in the Valuation industry, both in the private and public sectors. Kelly earned a Masters in Data Science from James Cook University and a Bachelor in Business (Property) from the University of South Australia

Cameron’s approach for Native Tile land valuations respects the unique cultural, legal, and environmental context of Indigenous lands. Providing Indigenous land valuations requires a comprehensive approach that involves consultation, cultural sensitivity, and an understanding of Indigenous perspectives and rights.
