The API is focused on the future of the property and valuation profession and reviews its standards documents to meet the changing and future needs of its Members.
The API SSC has drafted a new Valuation Protocol that is intended to provide guidance to API Valuers in relation to environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations when providing valuation services.
ESG is the initialism for the words environmental, social and governance. ESG is a framework used primarily by investors and financial markets to assess performance, risks and opportunities of an asset, liability or entity. It is a structed set of criteria to measure and report on the impact of an investment across the areas of environmental, social and governance factors.
The API is pleased to release this Valuation Protocol as an Exposure Draft for review and consultation. The consultation period is from 6 October 2026 to 6 November 2026.
