The March 2024 version of the Rules of Professional Conduct (Rules) which came into effect on 31 March 2024 created a framework for Valuers providing desktops. 

This permitted the API/APIV to expand the Scheme to recognise participating members providing desktops of real property or plant, machinery or equipment. 

The expansion of the Scheme was approved by the API/APIV Boards and came into effect in 1 September 2024.  As part of the expansion of the Scheme minor updates were required to the Rules to align to Scheme documentation.

The changes, which did not change the intention or application of the Rules, were approved by the API Board and the updated rules came into effect on 1 September 2024.
