Updates to the Rules of Professional Conduct – new valuer membership category/certification of AAPI RPV
The API announced in May 2025 that the API Board had approved amendments to API policy documents to enable members holding Residential Property Valuer certification to qualify for Associate membership as an AAPI RPV.
The approval of the new Valuer membership category/certification of AAPI RPV has necessitated changes to the API Rules of Professional Conduct (Rules) and corresponding updates to several APIV Scheme documents.
The changes enable members holding AAPI RPV to be recognised as a Primary Valuer under the Rules, and do not change the application of the Rules as they apply to individuals holding RPV. The changes to the Rules were approved by the API Board and came into effect on 1 August 2025.
