Amid the encouraging headlines – with building approvals surging and inflation slowing in the month of November – Dr Chan reminds us of the broader picture.
Despite the sharp increase in dwelling approvals, more still needs to be done to tackle the ongoing housing shortage. As for inflation, the latest readings remain above the RBA’s target band, which means the RBA will remain cautious when they next meet to discuss interest rates.
