API/APIV Valuation Protocol: Requests for Valuation Model Sharing
This Valuation Protocol has been prepared and released by the API/APIV to provide guidance to Valuers and valuation firms;
- when requested by a client, or others, to share a valuation model (as defined in the Valuation Protocol),
- inform them of the potential risks of valuation model sharing, and
- set standards that protect and maintain the integrity of the valuation profession and the services Valuers provide.
Valuation model sharing may take a variety of forms but typically entails the Valuer uploading a valuation model to a third party portal, or similar.
This Valuation Protocol comes into effect 5 April 2026. The API permits and encourages earlier adoption.
