Student Membership Explanatory Notes
Eligibility
- Must be studying full time or part time
- Must have a valid student number (API may contact the university or TAFE to confirm status. Proof of enrollment may be required)
Application Process
- Online application via www.api.org.au
- Membership is active once application has been completed and fee paid
Benefits and Entitlements
Student Members may:
- Apply to join the YPP Committee in their state of residence
- Register for API events & courses at applicable Member/Student rates
- Purchase products through the API Store at applicable Member/Student rates
- Access member only news, information, resources and rewards
- Participate in API Student Volunteer Programs
- Participate in API Mentoring Programs
- Upgrade to higher level of membership if eligibility requirements are met
Student Members may NOT:
- Nominate for State Committee or API Ltd Board
- Vote in State Committee or API Ltd Board elections
- Use any API post-nominals
- Hold an API certification
Ongoing Requirements:
- Maintain standing as a part time/full time student
- No requirement for accrual of Continuing Professional Development points
Beginning in 2020, student memberships will move to an annual fee in line with all other API memberships.
