Build to Rent is a new asset class in the property sector in Australia that is designed to boost housing supply nationally, improve the rental experience and foster a closer sense of community through amenity provided.
The purpose of this new API valuation guidance paper is to;
- promote a consistent approach to the valuation of this asset class
- provide information and guidance to Valuer Members undertaking valuations of Build to Rent property for any purpose
The consultation period for this paper was between 18 May 2022 and 1 July 2022.
The API is currently reviewing and collating the feedback received during the consultation period and will consider what amendments are appropriate to be made.
