Valuer's Certificates for Schedules of Unit Entitlements in Strata Schemes
On 30 November 2016 the new strata schemes legislation came into force in NSW. One of the many new provisions requires that before a strata plan can be registered it must include a valuer’s certificate.
This presentation will examine the relevant strata schemes legislation and regulations, including the meaning of relevant words, phrases, and terms used; appropriate valuation methods and principles; the form of the certificate; and preparation of the schedule of unit entitlement.
Also, importantly, the presentation will discuss possible professional liability arising from valuer’s certificates and the schedule of unit entitlements and how such liability may be minimised.
The presentation will be of interest to valuers and solicitors who undertake strata title work, and strata managers and developers.
