Technical Information Paper (TIP) – Retrospective Valuations released

The Australian Valuation Standards Committee (AVSC) has updated the API TIP Retrospective Valuations (AVTIP 1) to incorporate PINZ and NZIV requirements so that we have a combined Australian and New Zealand paper. This TIP is effective from 1 January 2020.
The updated TIP replaces AVTIP 1 in Australia.
The objective of this TIP is to address circumstances whereby a Valuer Member of the API is requested to undertake a valuation as at an earlier date, and/or review a previously completed valuation. Valuer Members undertaking retrospective valuations must do so to a standard of professionalism and skill required and consistent with membership of the API and in compliance with the law.
The API is committed to the promotion of best practice within the property industry and welcomes feedback to help this goal be achieved.
