RMIT University’s School of Property, Construction and Property Management, on behalf of the API, is conducting a survey of members working in residential valuations to understand how house energy efficient technologies and features are being accounted for within the valuation process.

The increasing cost of energy to households is incentivising owners to look towards retrofitting older houses with energy efficient measures or aim to purchase more efficient housing stock to reduce energy bills. This means valuers will increasingly need to consider the impact these measures may have on the final value.

This research aims to investigate how valuers currently understand this emerging issue and identify and develop ways to support members as we move towards more energy efficient housing stock. We invite you to participate in this API funded research project titled Developing a toolkit to estimate the value implications of sustainable characteristics on residential property valuations.

Your contribution is greatly appreciated, and we ask that you allocate 10-15 minutes to complete the survey. Participation is entirely voluntary, and all responses will remain anonymous.
