International Property Measurement Standards (IPMS): All Buildings exposure draft released

Developed by a coalition of more than 85 professional organisations, including the API, from around the world, IPMS for All Buildings aims to establish, for the first time, a globally consistent and transparent method for measuring all buildings, including mixed-use and specialist buildings.
IPMS: All Buildings consolidates the previous standards – Office, Residential, Industrial and Retail – into one combined paper.
The IPMS Coalition is seeking comments/feedback from organisations, such as the API, as well as practitioners who have an interest in the measurement and reporting of those measurements in relation to buildings in the built environment.
The consultation period is for 8 weeks from Monday 14 February 2022 until Friday 8 April 2022.
Members are encouraged to review the exposure draft document and provide a response directly to the IPMSC as per the ‘Answer Questionnaire’ available on the IPMSC website.
To access and comment on the exposure draft:
- Download the IPMS: All Buildings exposure draft document
- Complete and submit the online ‘Answer Questionnaire’ form, or
- Comment on the exposure draft document
Further information can be viewed online at the IPMSC website.
The API will be making a submission on behalf of Members. Should any Members wish to contribute to that submission, please contact the Standards Team at [email protected]. Alternately, Members are encouraged to review the documents and provide their feedback directly to the IPMSC as detailed above.
The API is focused on promoting best practice within the property industry and welcome feedback to help this goal be achieved.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the API through [email protected].
