Guidance Paper released – AVGP 301 Rental Valuations and Advice

The API is focused on the future of the profession and is systematically reviewing its robust standards to meet the needs of members in changing market conditions. The API has undertaken a review of AVGP 301 Assessing Rent and Rent Determinations and produced an updated guidance paper AVGP 301 Rental Valuations and Advice which is a part replacement of the former paper.
The new guidance paper relating to Rent Determinations is currently out for consultation. The API have reviewed the feedback and comments received during the consultation period and finalised the updated guidance paper. This guidance paper is for use by Members including Valuers providing professional services relating to rental advice of real property.
For the purpose of this guidance paper, rental advice comprises:
- a Valuer assessing rent; and
- a Member providing advice relating to rent that does not include assessing rent.
