Exposure Draft released – Native Title Matters

The API is focused on the future of the profession and is systematically reviewing its robust standards to meet the changing and future needs of its Members.
The API have undertaken a review of the existing paper, AVGP 402 Native Title Issues and produced an updated guidance paper, AVGP 402 Native Title Matters.
The comprehensive review has resulted in an updated paper which is intended to provide guidance to Members in relation to the concept of “native title” and is designed to be used by API Members as well as other property professionals who may have limited experience with respect to native title matters. It focuses on native title from the important perspective of native title as a form of property rights protected by the law, which are meaningful and need to be respected.
The API are pleased to release the updated paper as an Exposure Draft for review and consultation. Members and interested industry stakeholders are encouraged to provide comments on the exposure draft paper using the link webform provided here by no later than Friday 16 December 2022.
