The VIC API Young Property Professionals are proud to present our Women in Property virtual event. The CEO of the API, Amelia Hodge will be joined live by Vanessa Hoey (Herron Todd White), Steph Harper (CBRE), and Briony Stephen (Matheson Stephen Valuations) to discuss their role as women in leadership, what they love about the industry and what they would change, and, their important role in property, presently and into the future. We invite you to bring along a beverage of choice and join us for a panel discussion followed by a Q&A session and the opportunity to ask any questions on the day.

Presenters

Amelia Hodge, Chief Executive Officer Australian Property Institute
Amelia Hodge is the CEO of the Australian Property Institute and has enjoyed a senior executive career spanning some 27 years, with her depth of experience driving successful outcomes across a range of sectors, projects and industries.  Her previous Chief Executive, Senior executive and project roles have included Origin Energy, Powerlink Queensland, the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority, Qld Law Society and Coffey Commercial Advisory, following her legal career in the property sector. Amelia currently sits as an independent representative on the Council for the Order of Australia. She has held or retains Non-Executive Directorships with Transmax, the Gladstone Water Board, Lexon Insurance, 3rd Space and Artisan Queensland, has chaired board audit and risk committees and sits on the advisory board of tech start-up Law Advisor.  On behalf of the Queensland Office for Women, Amelia also sat on the Great Artesian Basin Advisory Council. Amelia holds a Bachelor of Law and a Graduate Certificate in Property Economics from Queensland University of Technology and has undertaken the Harvard Kennedy School of Government Infrastructure in the Market Economy programme. She is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Vanessa Hoey, Director, Retail Valuations Herron Todd White 
Vanessa is a Director at Herron Todd White and has specialised in Retail Valuations for 14 years. Vanessa has a broad range of experience in retail property valuations including neighbourhood shopping centres, supermarkets, strip retail and large format. Her valuation work has been prepared for a range of purposes including Mortgage Security, Acquisition/Disposals, Taxation, Pre-Purchase and Rental Assessments.
Steph Harper, Director - Residential Living Sectors CBRE
Steph is a Director and the lead Valuer of CBRE’s Residential Living Sectors Valuations team, and industry specialist in Affordable Housing and the accelerating Build-to-Rent sector. Steph is at the forefront of this emerging asset class in the Australian property market, offering clients quality valuation and advisory services to better inform business decisions as this sector builds momentum. She partners with clients at a local and institutional level, including developers, private investors, operators, government entities, financiers, and not-for-profit organisations. Steph has experience in Valuations across multiple asset classes, and is based in Melbourne.
Briony Stephen, Director  Matheson Stephen Valuations
Briony Stephen is a certified Practising Valuer and has worked within the property industry for over 15 years. She is a Director of Matheson Stephen Valuations which is an independent and progressive Melbourne based property valuation firm offering government and private sector clients a full range of valuation services including Compulsory acquisition, Financial Reporting, Market Value assessments, Rental Determinations, Feasibility Analysis and general property advice. MSV are also key service provider for statutory valuations undertaking the valuations for 6 metropolitan councils in Victoria. Briony is also the current chairperson of the Municipal Group of Valuers, with over 200 members, the MGV plays a pivotal role in provision and advancement of rating valuations in Victoria.
