Valuing the Build to Rent opportunity in Australia

O210908

Description

Build to Rent has now very much arrived in Australia. Schemes are up and running in several states and are either under construction or in detailed planning in most if not all State Capitals across the Country. With such rapid growth, Investors and Developers and those in the wider Valuation profession are increasingly calling for a standardised approach in the sector to support the sector to fulfil its potential on Australia’s shores.

This webinar will support API Valuer Members to understand the growing international Build to Rent sector and its continuing evolution in Australia. Key experts join us to present their exciting research, information and practical experience of this rapidly growing market. This webinar will introduce members to the build to rent space in the international market and Australian context. Speakers will join us to provide a Valuation perspective on the sector and explore its implications on the different areas of Valuation.

This webinar was held on 8 September 2021.

Learning Outcomes

From this recording, participants will:

  1. Identify what is, and what is not, Build to Rent in the context of valuation;
  2. Identify key considerations when valuing BTR schemes; and,
  3. Examining the underlying investment case for BTR and its defensive characteristics, particularly given the impacts of COVID-19 on the rise of activity in the sector.
