Sheila Kushe, General Manager - Standards and Compliance | The Australian Property Institute
Sheila Kushe leads the Standards and Compliance department at the Australian Property Institute. With 20 years’ experience working in the legal industry, for professional bodies and membership organisations, practising as a lawyer and managing teams, Sheila has a depth of strategic, business and people management expertise.   In addition to her law degree, Sheila holds a postgraduate qualification in Coaching (Psychology) from Sydney University.
Luke Mackintosh, Partner – Strategy and Transactions – Real Estate | Ernst & Young
Luke is a qualified property valuer and licensed real estate agent with over 30 years of real estate advisory and valuation experience within the Australian and Asian market place. He specialises in assisting companies with their capital requirements, including sourcing capital partners for complex property development projects. Over the past five years, Luka has specialised in the Multi-family Housing (MfH or BTR) sector in Australia, working with local and state governments, developers, investors fund managers and operators to establish the asset class in Australia. Luke and his team have advised on over 80% of the recognised and approved BTR projects in Australia.
Flavio Rossi, Build to Rent Originations | Investa Property Group
Flavio is responsible for originating Build to Rent site opportunities from identification through to execution for Investa and Oxford Property’s ‘Indi’ BTR platform. This involves managing Indi’s front-end market interaction, sourcing high quality and strategic opportunities, structuring transactions and leading the underwriting process. Flavio has intimate knowledge of the Investa and Oxford Properties Build to Rent Strategy, having been involved since its inception. Prior to his current role, Flavio worked at EY and lead it’s EY’s BTR function in NSW, providing transaction and development advice to the sector’s first movers, government and finance sectors in undertaking capital transaction, valuation, underwriting, rental and demographic assessments. Flavio has presented at BTR conferences in Australian and New Zealand and contributed to thought leadership papers on the sector. Flavio’s academic affiliation extends to the University of Sydney where he has been lecturing in Building Economics, Asset and Facility Management since 2015.
