The second episode of the API Economic Recovery Series, hosted by the ABC’s Elysse Morgan, will take you right to the action. Join us to hear from our expert panel experts about the role of infrastructure investment in the economic recovery post COVID-19. In the past Australia has built its way back to recovery with projects such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Snow Hydro Scheme.

Facilitator: Elysse Morgan - Journalist, ABC
Elysse Morgan hosts The Business on ABC TV and ABC NEWS Channel from Mondays to Thursdays. An award-winning journalist with a specialist business and finance background, Elysse has been at the ABC for almost a decade. Prior to that Elysse worked at Sky News. After joining the ABC as a rural reporter focusing on trade and resources, her specialist knowledge saw her promoted to ABC News's national finance round. After two years of co-hosting, Elysse is now the host of ABC's The Business.
Tracey Gibson - Executive Director, Infrastructure, Commonwealth Bank of Australia
Tracey Gibson is a senior banking professional with 20 years’ experience in the infrastructure sector and is currently an Executive Director in the Real Estate and Infrastructure team at CBA. Tracey’s previous banking roles include Head of Infrastructure at BOS International (part of Lloyds Banking Group) and Director, Project Finance at Westpac. Prior to joining banking, Tracey held various roles within Queensland Treasury including as Principal Treasury Analyst where she provided commercial and financial advice to the Government on asset sales and Public Private Partnerships.
Romilly Madew - CEO, Infrastructure Australia
Romilly Madew AO FTSE was appointed Chief Executive Officer, Infrastructure Australia, in early 2019 and is responsible for overseeing Infrastructure Australia’s critical role in helping governments prioritise projects and reforms that best serve our communities. Before joining Infrastructure Australia, Ms Madew was CEO of Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) for 13 years. In acknowledgment of her contribution to Australia’s sustainable building movement, Ms Madew was awarded an Order of Australia in 2019. She is currently Independent Chair of the Currawong State Park Advisory Board (NSW) and a member of the CSIRO Disaster and Climate Resilience Expert Reference Panel. Romilly has previously held Board positions with the Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council (ASBEC), Sydney Olympic Park Authority, where she was also Chair of SOPAs Parkland Advisory Committee and Chief Executive Women. She has sat on numerous Federal Government panels including the Cities Reference Group, National Sustainability Council, Climate Futures Independent Expert Group and the National Urban Policy Forum.
Mark Redmond - Director, NSW Treasury
Mark Redmond is a Director in the Infrastructure and Structured Finance unit in NSW Treasury, responsible for advice on the structuring and procurement of major infrastructure projects including PPP’s. Prior to Treasury, Mark had three years of experience in Urban Growth NSW after 20 years as a banking executive specialising in project finance, covering oil and gas financing, social infrastructure, economic infrastructure, renewable energy and resources financing. Mark has early experience as a consulting engineer and specialist engineer within the Commonwealth Bank which has provided a sound technical grounding. He holds expertise in the structuring of facilities to manage energy, infrastructure, utilities, resources and construction risks. Mark's key strengths include a strong technical background, ability to relate to clients, win business, structure products mentor colleagues and create a productive and supportive work environment.
Michel Masson - CEO, Infrastructure Victoria
Michel Masson is Chief Executive Officer at Infrastructure Victoria, an independent body responsible for delivering Victoria’s first ever 30-year infrastructure strategy. Michel started his career at Deloitte before joining the Bollore Group where he held various senior finance positions in the transport and logistics division in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. In 2005 he joined Keolis as head of Finance and Operations for the International Division where he was responsible for leading public transport operations in seven countries and held various non-executive director positions in UK and German rail franchises.
Nikki Robinson - National Practice Group Leader (Real Estate), Clayton Utz
Nikki Robinson is a Partner in the Real Estate Group as well as Partner-in-Charge of Clayton Utz's Sydney office. She has over 22 years' experience advising both public and private sector clients on strategic, commercial and legal issues affecting all forms of property, infrastructure and procurement related matters. Nikki specialises in large scale development projects, with a focus on urban renewal and precinct development. Many of the urban renewal projects have had at their core, integrated infrastructure and transport solutions to ensure their success. This expertise combined with Nikki's exceptional experience in large infrastructure projects allows her to bring a unique skillset to any project she advises. Major projects Nikki has been involved include Sydney Metro West and Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport, Snowy 2.0, St Mary's intermodal terminal, expansion of the container terminal at Port Botany, Parramatta Square, Barangaroo and many more. Nikki was voted as Real Estate Partner of the Year for both 2016 and 2017 at the Australian Lawyers Weekly awards (and shortlisted in 2018). She is ranked as a leading practitioner by legal directories including Legal 500, Chambers and Doyle's Guide.
