For the final event in the ACT Industry Forum webinar series, we will discuss Canberra’s housing market being the quiet achiever in a number of sectors throughout COVID in 2020. Marcus Hon will be presenting on the residential market within the ACT with focus on the new and established housing market. Maree Harman will present anecdotally on new development fronts directly adjacent to the ACT and how they have been impacted during this period.  Marcus and Maree will discuss what have been the driving factors for the market and where do we see it going into 2021.

Marcus Hon - Senior Director, Residential Valuations ACT, Central Coast and Newcastle, JLL
Marcus Hon is a Senior Director in JLL’s Residential Valuations business, with over 22 years’ experience in the property industry. The primary responsibilities of his role include project managing large scale valuation assignments, managing Advisory Services clients, developing and implementing focused client relationship marketing, and growing the national presence of JLL’s Integrated Property Advisory team through the provision of strategic professional services.   Over the past 22 years, Marcus has worked in leading professional firms delivering strategic property advice to the private, government, community housing and institutional sectors.   Marcus has worked predominantly in real estate advisory and property valuation across a broad range of property sectors. Marcus is highly experienced in the assessment of real estate for due diligence, litigation purposes, mortgage purposes, financial modelling/ reporting and divestment strategies.
Maree Harman - Development Analyst, Village Building Co
Maree Harman joined Village Building Co 5 years ago as an Acquisitions Manager. This broad role saw Maree involved in the company’s land acquisitions, development management of local projects and also provision of market advice internally. This role has since evolved into Maree’s current role as Development Analyst.   Maree’s primary role is working on the Urban Release Area of South Jerrabomberra. Maree works with the South Jerra team to deliver on the statutory and master planning components of the project. This involves project management of the consulting teams, working through the design and feasibility process as well as working closely with Council to achieve approvals.   Maree has 25 year’s experience working in property in the local region, of which 20 years was in valuation at McCann’s then CBRE where she specialised in residential development.   Maree has a strong involvement with the Australian Property Institute having served on Divisional Council as a councillor, treasurer and Junior Vice President and has recently re-joined as a committee member.  After 10 years experience Maree gained FAPI or Fellowship membership of the API.   Maree has also had a long involvement with the Property Council holding roles of Chair on the residential committee and Deputy Chair on the Residential and Planning Committee.
