Pete Faulkner Economist, Non-Executive Director and Consultant
Having graduated at the Bayes Business School, Pete spent 15 years in the City of London as an investment banker in some of the world’s largest banks leading teams of traders, sales people and economists. For the past 17 years Pete has been a Partner in a boutique business consultancy practice in FNQ. His specialisations have included strategic planning, business modelling, board governance and economic analysis. Pete is well-known for his analysis of regional economic data and has created many bespoke data-sets covering labour market, building approvals, income and inflation statistics for regional Australia. Kevin Malone General Manager Commercial - Ports North
Kevin is currently the General Manager Commercial for Ports North and responsible for the port’s property portfolio, commercial dealings, cruise ship, new trade and site acquisitions across nine ports in North Queensland. Previously he was the director of a locally based international commercial real estate agency as head of valuation and consultancy. Kevin is a longstanding and highly respected member and Fellow of the API and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Ed Johnson Director of Planning, Growth and Sustainability at Cairns Regional Council
Ed Johnson is the Director of Planning, Growth and Sustainability at Cairns Regional Council. He is a passionate leader of sustainable development outcomes and creating positive change to communities by capturing the opportunities that growth provides. As the Director responsible for the planning assessment, compliance, development engineering, strategic planning, licensing and local laws teams at Council, Ed has a detailed understanding of the impacts of key policy settings on the day to day delivery of growth in our region. Within the growth & sustainability teams, there is a particular focus on the delivery of Council’s NetZero commitments by 2030 as well as understanding and planning for the additional growth of up to 130,000 people in 2050. Ed is an active member of the development industry and looks forward to forging Industry partnerships, working proactively with our regional stakeholders to embrace the challenges of the future and turn these into opportunities for generations to come.
