Graduate Valuer
Multiple temporary full-time roles available Valuation NSW Graduate Program.
About the role
Valuation NSW (VNSW) is currently seeking multiple Graduate Valuers to join their valuation teams – responsible for valuing every parcel of land in NSW and determining appropriate compensation for land and interests subject to compulsory acquisition on behalf of the Valuer General, as well as providing Cluster and cross Cluster valuation support and advice where appropriate to do so.
Location negotiable across NSW with main offices in Parramatta, Newcastle, Bathurst, Wollongong, Coffs Harbour, Murwillumbah and Orange.
As a Graduate Valuer, you will develop skills to become a qualified Valuer and upon conclusion of the graduate program may be successful in obtaining Associate membership with the Australian Property Institute. The Graduate Valuer undertakes and assists with providing professional, expert and authoritative property and valuation information and technical expertise that is consistent with legislation, policy and community standards and expectations. The 24-month program will see graduates experience up to four work rotations of up to six months each with different teams within Valuation NSW, to give them a wide breadth of training and learning experiences. About Us
The Valuer General is an independent statutory officer, appointed by the Governor of New South Wales to oversee the State’s land valuation system.
VNSW provides services to, supports, and where appropriately delegated, delivers relevant functions on behalf of the Valuer General of NSW. This includes:
Defining and setting the standards and policies for the land valuation system for rating and taxing purposes along with the determination of compensation through the compulsory acquisition process to ensure integrity within the NSW Government is upheld.
Monitoring, quality assurance and governance pertaining to the quality of the valuations undertaken relevant to both the Valuation of Land Act 1916 and the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991.
Providing other specialised valuation activities, services and determinations as/when required for other cluster or statewide government partners; and
Providing professional leadership and stewardship to the valuation industry.
About You
The successful candidate will possess:

- Gain knowledge of relevant legislation and policies and understanding how they apply
Essential Requirements:
- Student Member or Provisional Member of the Australian Property Institute
- Completion of or undertaking qualifications that meet the eligibility requirements to apply for Associate
- Membership of the Australian Property Institute
- Current driver’s license and willingness to travel.
