Valuer, Valuation & Advisory Services Full time / Permanent Canberra
Job Description
Our Valuation & Advisory Services team values commercial, industrial, healthcare, hospitality, accommodation, rural and retail assets across Australia as well as specialised asset classes such as childcare, self-storage, data centres and service stations. We are seeking a qualified Valuer to join our high-performing team based in our Canberra office.
As a key member of the Valuation & Advisory Services team, you will work across some of Australia’s best assets and contribute to one of the most highly regarded valuation platforms in the country. You will have direct access to senior leaders, a highly skilled team of valuation and administration staff, best-in-class platforms to help you deliver services that exceed client expectations, and our dedicated marketing and communications specialist will work with you to enhance your brand as an industry expert.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide the highest quality advice and valuation services possible
• Ensure services are delivered on time in line with clients’ requirements
• Meet individual budget and assist with the preparing, monitoring and updating budgets and forecasts for the division
• Follow up debtors
• Actively participate in product line meetings, seminars and workshops
• Attend client / industry events to interact with clients and gain market and business knowledge
• Implement marketing initiatives and contribute to business development and client engagement by taking ownership of new and existing client relationships
• Assess market values for properties, particularly within own specialisation
• Ongoing enhancement of company databases
• Extract and appropriately analyse comparable sales evidence
• Collaborate with other service lines across Colliers and complete valuation work for mutual clients
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients
• Seek and refer opportunities to other geographic locations and product lines
Competencies and Qualifications
• An Associate Member of the API or ability to gain membership
• Commercial awareness of the formulation and implementation of strategy
• Problem solving and analytical ability to generate information that provides sound business decisions
• Computer literacy, particularly with MS Excel, Word and Estate Master
• Ability to deal with several matters and work to deadlines
• Ability to build strong business relationships with key internal and external contacts
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Sound industry knowledge of the markets
• Show property risk awareness and adhere to and understand our in house quality assurance methodology Colliers Assure
