Valuer / Senior Valuer – Metropolitan Team

Key Responsibilities

This role is required to undertake a wide range of activities which may include a combination of the following:
• Providing expert valuation advise and reports on a range of property uses including residential land uses in locations across the state.
• Developing a broad knowledge of residential markets and property classifications and gain an understanding of market drivers and the data that influence property values.
• Specifically (but not limited to) undertake market investigation publishing articles, conduct landowner interviews and other local industry stakeholders to gain market knowledge and understand drivers of value.
• Undertake intra-state travel to assist in completion of valuation programs or required to broaden market knowledge base.
• Maintenance of the valuation roll in accordance with LSSA’s obligations including creation of assessments, changes due to development, and specific project work.
• Resolving complex valuation issues with innovative solutions that are consistent with LSSA’s obligations to the Office of the Valuer-General and internal service level requirements.
• Undertaking research and analysis, including sales validation and analysis, interpretation of findings and preparation of reports relating to statutory valuation outcomes or broader LSSA initiatives.
• Contributing to productivity and quality assurance initiatives and change management across LSSA.
• Contributing to the development of professional standards within the Valuation team and the professional development and mentoring of staff.
• Undertaking professional duties of a crucial nature including research, analysis and reporting relating to the resolution of complex issues and the management of assigned programs, projects, assets and or services.

• Sound statutory valuation knowledge and a thorough understanding of valuation fundamentals
• The ability to work under pressure and prioritise to meet tight time frames
• The ability to work autonomously and contribute effectively to a team
• Knowledge sharing capabilities including publication of analysis or findings that would educate others within LSSA
• A broad range of valuation experience and market knowledge, including the provision of valuation support and advice
• Well-developed professional communication and interpersonal skills
• Sound analytical and decision-making capabilities
• Abilities to manage stakeholders both internally and externally
• Contribute to continuous improvement within the team and the accuracy and completeness of the rural valuation program

Special Conditions and Essential Requirements

• Some out of hours work may be required
• Bachelor of Business (Property) or equivalent approved qualification in accordance with the Land Valuers Act 1994
• RPV or CPV certified preferred
• API Member desirable
• A current driver’s licence is essential
• Current satisfactory National Crime History check upon appointment, and then one completed every three years after
