INTRODUCTION TO VALUATION AND PROPERTY STANDARDS

The Introduction to Valuation and Property Standards dated 1 Aug 2008 has been withdrawn and the new Introduction to Valuation and Property Standards is published 1 October 2019.

The Australian Property Institute (API) is committed to upholding the qualities of integrity, experience, professionalism and expertise.  The Institute recognises their role and responsibility in assisting Members to provide high quality professional services, relevant to the current and changing needs of client and community.

International Valuation Standards (IVS) published by the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) are adopted in their entirety.  IVS was adopted by the API as being the primary standards from 2007.  It is the Members responsibility to follow IVS, keep informed of any changes, and apply them consistently in their professional tasks.

Australia and New Zealand Valuation and Property Standards (ANZVPS) provide Members with guidance and professional assistance.  Professional Standards and guidelines developed are created, formalised and adopted through a rigorous process with the Australian Valuation Standards Committee (AVSC), the Australian Property Standards Committee (APSC), specialty subcommittees and others.
