1 July 2018 land values will be used to calculate land tax

1 July 2018 land values will be used to calculate land tax for the 2019 land tax year. Registered land tax clients will receive a land tax assessment notice from Revenue NSW. The assessment notice shows the land values Revenue NSW used to calculate the landholder’s land tax.

Members of the public can visit revenue.nsw.gov.au or call 1300 139 816 for more information on land tax.

1 July 2018 land values will not be used for rating

Councils receive new land values for rating every three years. Most councils are using 1 July 2016 land values for rating. All councils are scheduled to receive new values for rating as at 1 July 2019.

Review process

Landholders who think the land value or property information on their land tax assessment notice is wrong have 60 days to lodge an objection to have it reviewed.

Our review kit helps landholders lodge an objection. The kit contains an information booklet, objection form and sales report. Landholders can get a review kit or lodge their objection at valuergeneral.nsw.gov.au. They can also get a review kit by calling 1800 110 038.
