2020 has certainly been a year filled with surprises and many unique challenges
We hope that our regular communications (which are still available on our COVID-19 Hub) helped provide you with the information you needed to inform your practice in a timely and meaningful way.
At the start of the year, we told you that this was our year of innovation. At that time we were looking ahead to the big projects we were launching this year, including our new website and member portal, our new membership category MAPI, a refreshed look and feel to our communications, the launch of our research and education fund – APREF, and the APIV scheme renewal.
COVID-19, however, forced us to push ourselves harder and go further than even we imagined to deliver all of the above, as well as a suite of responsive initiatives to ensure our Members were supported through the pandemic.
This included ground-breaking new virtual valuation protocols that enabled Members to conduct virtual valuations that were held in equal esteem by banks and insurers. We also declared a state of emergency and created new market uncertainty clauses and standards for members who were undertaking valuations. We liaised with government and advocated for valuation to be regarded as a supporting essential service, something that not every country succeeded in. Lastly, we shifted our educational offerings to an online environment and provided seven free points of CPD to ensure that our members had access to high-quality professional development.
All along this journey, we have sincerely appreciated the feedback we have received from Members offering support and commendations, as well as constructive suggestions for how we can do even better.
We sincerely hope that you felt supported throughout 2020 by your industry association and we look forward to working together with you and the property industry for another year.
Thank you for your continued support! We hope you and your loved ones are able to enjoy a restful break over the end of year period to return to welcome 2021 with us.
You will now have received your invoice. As in previous years, your invoice is due on the 1st of January with a grace period of 2 months to finalise your renewal. Please disregard the 7 days for payment on your invoices, this is a standard timeframe for all our invoices and does not apply to the renewal cycle. Apologies for any confusion.
