With an ever increasing level of competition in the job market, it is paramount for any professional to distinguish themselves from the crowd. Unfortunately, the skills and traits that allow one to do so, are not taught at any university, and the onus is on the individual to learn these whilst ‘on the job’.

Join us to hear from a distinguished panel of speakers who will share experiences on a variety of topics within the career development spectrum. This career event will be unlike those held previously. The panel will delve into ‘taboo topics’ in the workplace.

Tom Laundy
Director of Business Advisory, William Buck

Tom Laundy became a Director of William Buck at the age of 29 and has always played a significant role in the development of the firm, from being heavily involved with the Business Advisory graduate recruitment process for over 10 years to facilitating the Chartered Accountant program.

In 2006 he started William Buck’s networking event ‘Generation Next’ to provide young professionals, such as himself, the opportunity to broaden their networks in South Australia.

In Business Advisory Tom works across a broad range of industries, specialising in all aspects of business management from tax advice to strategic business planning, with a focus in the health care sector.

Underpinning Tom’s professional development is a genuine care and empathy for his clients and an enthusiastic, can-do attitude.
 

Nick Bell
Director of Valuations, Knight Frank Valuations

Nick has been involved in real estate valuation since 1997, having been with Knight Frank from 2002, and works with a young team of specialist valuers who are true experts across major markets including industrial, retail, hotels, agribusiness, health and aged care, plant and equipment and residential developments.

Since joining Knight Frank, Nick has a wide range of experience in valuation advice for acquisition, financial reporting, mortgage, rental determinations and general consultancy purposes for a range of clients, including all the major Australian banks and major property owners such as Adelaide Airport Ltd. Nick specialises in the Commercial Office market.

Nick has provided advice as an expert witness in the District Court, has presented to colleagues for the continuing professional development program of the Australian Property Institute (API) and served on the Membership Applications Committee of the API since 2006.
 

Peter Isaksson
Director of Capital Transactions, Savills

Peter has expertise in all forms of transactions of real estate specialising in CBD and investment property markets. He has been involved in some of South Australia’s largest real estate transactions for over 25 years involving Commercial and Retail Investment Properties and Englobo Land.

More recently he has acted for numerous clients in sourcing development opportunities and properties for client’s portfolios.

Peter has acted for Government, Private and Public Companies, High Net Worth individuals and REITS.
 

Jane Carey
CEO, Edge Recruitment

Jane Carey is the CEO of Edge Recruitment – a company she co-founded 19 years ago after working in commercial and residential agency.  Edge is a boutique recruitment agency working with clients seeking property experienced employees and candidates with property sector knowledge and experience. 

Jane has a degree in Employment Relations, is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and sits on several boards.  She has also been a finalist in the Telstra Women in Business’s awards.
