Gavin Hegney
Property Analyst & Commentator

Gavin Hegney is one of Australia’s most influential voices in property. As a skilled analyst of the property and finance sectors, he is a prolific market commentator and shares his insightful understanding in forecasting future market trends. Gavin has earned a longstanding reputation of integrity and business innovation and has been a prominent member of Western Australia’s property industry for 35 years. He shares his expertise as a regular guest presenter to many corporate and industry conferences and events and authored the book ‘The Residential Property Market’ and he finds great enjoyment in researching the property, finance and share markets in understanding how they fit together.

REIWA

Damian Collins is the current President of the Real Estate Institute of Western Australia (REIWA) following his election in October 2018. Damian has served on REIWA Council since 2011 and actively supports and champions the WA real estate community through this leadership role.

Damian is the founder and Managing Director of Momentum Wealth and Chairman of Mair Property Funds. Having been an active investor himself for over 25 years, Damian continues to apply his extensive experience in property to help fellow investors make successful investments through direct and syndicated property.

Damian has a Bachelor of Business from RMIT University in Melbourne and a Graduate Diploma in Property from Curtin University in Perth and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment through FINSIA. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia.

Aaron Sharp
Trainer & Assessor
REIWA

Aaron has over 20 years experience investing in strata, residential and development projects. He combines his extensive professional knowledge with his personal property experiences to deliver a passionate approach to professionalism in the industry.

Tapas Strickland
Director, Economics
NAB

Tapas is Director, Economics at NAB. He writes for the Bank on the economy and on financial markets. You may have heard him on NAB’s morning call podcast (financial and economic insights delivered to you at 6.30am) and he speaks regularly to NAB’s diverse range of customers, from SMEs to institutional clients, both at home and abroad. Prior to joining NAB he spent six years at the Reserve Bank of Australia and also worked as an economic adviser in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, advising the Gillard, Rudd and Abbott governments.

Anita started Realmark alongside her husband in 1989. Over the years, she’s grown it to become one of Australia’s leading real estate agencies. Anita continues to play a vital role in the culture, growth and innovation of Realmark, with a focus on nurturing the personal and career development of women in Realmark. Supporting women in business is Anita’s passion, and in 2004 she established Realmark’s Successful Women in Business – to care and nurture the personal and career development of women in Realmark. In addition to her community contributions, Anita has also fostered support of multiple charities through Realmark’s True Blue program.

Michael Veletta
Senior Director
CBRE

Since starting property in 1983, Michael has had long term experience in a number of areas including sales, land development, marketing, though mostly valuations. This included severa years in the ACT property market, completing predominantly mortgage security work for R.L. Davis & Company in Canberra and surrounding NSW. On return to Perth in 1999 he completed valuation work in commercial, industrial, hotel/leisure, resumptions, compensation, land subdivisions and executive housing. Since this time he had vast experience in the Residential Valuation industry in his capacity as a Property Valuer, together with undertaking a broad range of other tasks including commercial, industrial, compensation and acquisition, and residential valuations. Now a Senior Director of CBRE Residential Valuations in Western Australia and member of the CBRE Perth Executive Committee, one of the largest business lines within the CBRE National Business which cater for a range of Residential properties and reporting formats.

Over the years Michaels Property career has been interrupted with sporting interests, and now is a Director of the Western Australian Cricket Association and the Audit and Risk Committee. Michael has a passion for our industry, its future, and the development of better property professionals and is fortunate in his role at CBRE to have an opportunity to influence some of these outcomes.
