As all those in the profession know – everything impacts upon property values. The 2019 WA State Conference will explore a multitude of changing factors impacting the property industry. The program of high calibre presenters will delve into the common areas that often get overlooked such as tourism, property innovations, use of space variations and the larger scale impacts of national transport projects.

This highly informative afternoon of presentations and panel sessions has been put together to enlighten delegates on what is currently impacting WA and the property market.

Rob Arnott

Rob Arnott, Senior Project Director, Main Roads
Within his role with Main Roads Rob is responsible for developing and delivering the $1.02b NorthLink WA initiative.  Rob has over 35 years of experience working with Main Roads Western Australia in a wide variety of roles in both urban and rural environments.  His experience spans project management, asset management, planning, design and construction of roads.  He was also part of teams responsible for the planning, design and construction of both the Northern Suburbs Transit System and the Southern Suburbs Railway that carry the bulk of the metropolitan rail passenger movements in Perth.  From 2008 Rob initiated and led Main Roads’ planning and development work on the Gateway WA project that has transformed access to Perth Airport and the freight hub at Kewdale.  NorthLink WA currently consumes the majority of Rob’s work time.  When not at work Rob enjoys spending time on the water, either in a kayak or sailing. 

Ryan CarsonRyan Carson, Co-Founder & CEO, Cordially
Ryan Carson, Co-Founder and CEO of Cordially and currently part of the Telstra and Spacecubed backed accelerator program, is an up and coming Australian entrepreneur who is tackling the problem of renting and property management in Australia. Ryan epitomises a self starter who challenges the status quo and is not afraid to explore ambitious and disruptive new solutions.  Cordially have created a self rent inspection tool that allows property management agencies to utilise their tenants as a resource to collect the property inspection photos and data via an app as well as to drastically increase the number of properties under management per property manager.
Tracey Cinavas-Prosser

Tracey Cinavas-Prosser, CEO, Destination Perth
Tracey took over as CEO over Destination Perth in July 2018 following eleven years in both marketing and membership roles at the Perth Convention Bureau. Originally from Guernsey in the Channel Islands, she has been working in the tourism sector for over twenty five years.

Kelvin Flynn

Kelvin Flynn, Managing Director, Harvis
Kelvin Flynn is the Managing Director of Harvis, responsible for the origination, identification, structuring and management of investment opportunities and the firm’s strategic direction.  With a career spanning 28 years, Kelvin returned from Asia in 2009 to establish a leading Australian specialist alternative funds manager, culminating in the success of Sirona Capital which held a real estate pipeline in excess of $2 billion.  Kelvin has a successful track record of lending and investing significant debt and equity capital in distressed and special situations and, prior to that, acting as an interim manager and adviser to multinational corporations and their stakeholders in complex workouts and restructurings across the Asia Pacific region.

Amelia HodgeAmelia Hodge, CEO, Australian Property Institute

Amelia is the CEO of the Australian Property Institute and has enjoyed a senior executive career spanning some 25 years, with her depth of experience driving successful outcomes across a range of sectors, projects and industries.  Her previous Chief Executive, Senior executive and project roles have included Origin Energy, Powerlink Queensland, the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority, Qld Law Society and Coffey Commercial Advisory, following her legal career in the property sector.

Paul Kotsoglo

Paul Kotsoglo, Managing Director, Planning Solutions
Paul is Managing Director of Planning Solutions, currently in its 20th year. Planning Solutions has 20 staff, operating across Australia for private and ASX listed clients. Paul has held Principal and City Planner roles across Western Australia in Karratha, Albany, Bunbury and Nedlands. Paul has been the Presiding Member of four Development Assessment Panels including City of the Perth, Kimberley, Metro-East and Mid-West Wheatbelt. He’s an active member of the Planning Institute of Australia and is a Registered Planner, elevated to “Fellow” and is a past President of the Institute in Western Australia.

Nicole Lockwood

Nicole Lockwood, Director, Lockwood Advisory
Nicole is the Independent Chair of the Westport Taskforce charged with planning the infrastructure to drive the freight future of WA’s South West for the next 50 years and beyond. She is the Chair of the Freight and Logistics Council of WA and a member of the Boards of the Water Corporation and Infrastructure Australia. She Chairs MNG Surveying and the Sienna Wood JV and is the Deputy Chair of Leadership WA.  With a background in law and regional economic development, Nicole works with government and the private sector to develop long-term infrastructure plans to secure the future prosperity and livability of our cities.

Noel RichardsNoel Richards, Director, Deloitte Access Economics
Noel has 17 years of experience as an applied economist and policy adviser. He has spent the last 6 years with Deloitte Access Economics in Perth, where his focus has been infrastructure and transport economics, including work on the Government’s Metronet program. Prior to joining Deloitte, Noel was a principal economist with AECOM Australia, and also spent time in the UK as a macroeconomist and policy adviser for the UK government. Prior to this, Noel spent 6 years with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of WA.
Daniel McCullen

Daniel McCullen, Co Founder, SpacetoCo

With a range of experiences across the education sector; the property industry; to the world of franchising and business management, Daniel’s wide range of skill sets have culminated in his focus on building a business from scratch in the startup marketplace platform space.  As a co-founder and CEO of SpacetoCo, Daniel is able to pursue his passion for creating something of lasting value in the community. SpacetoCo allows him to utilise the broad skillset acquired through various experiences to build a business from scratch that will have a positive impact on  those around him.

Peter McUtchen

Peter McUtchen, Chief Operating Officer, Parkd
Peter has 14 years' experience in the structural design and construction of specialist concrete buildings and structures. Peter’s experience in the construction industry was founded with the specialist subcontractor Soletanche Freyssinet where he developed his expertise in the design and construction of post-tensioned structures and management of construction projects.  Upon establishing the Freyssinet brand in the Western Australian market, he transitioned into the engineering consulting industry becoming the Practice Manager for ADG Engineers (a national structural and civil engineering consultancy).  Peter is the Immediate Past President of the West Australian branch of the Concrete Institute of Australia where he represents corporate partners and individuals working in the concrete industry.

Warren PhillipsWarren Phillips, Senior Development Manager, LandCorp
Warren is a Senior Development Manager with over 10 years’ experience delivering transformational land development projects. His expertise spans the entire project lifecycle from acquisition to planning and construction. Warren holds a Bachelor of Business in Land Economy and Valuation.  Prior to joining LandCorp he was co-founder of Australia’s first ‘technology’ property consultancy, assisting telecommunications carriers such as Optus and AAPT with their network rollouts.
Matthew Reid

Matthew Reid, Partner, Jackson McDonald
Matthew has over 16 years' experience as a litigation lawyer specialising in contentious property and planning matters.  Matthew represents clients in all Western Australian courts and the State Administrative Tribunal dealing with a broad range of property related matters, including disputes arising in the context of land sale/purchase transactions, property development, strata, commercial and retail leasing, land use and land occupation.

Dan Sweet

Dan Sweet, Manager-WA, Far East Consortium
With a thirteen-year career spanning the property. project management and financial sectors both nationally and internationally, Dan brings a wealth of experience to the Far East Consortium team of which he has been a member of since 2016.

Dan currently heads up the WA arm, where he manages two largescale, Perth based projects - The Towers apartment and the Ritz Carlton Perth at Elizabeth Quay. 

Tom Young

Tom Young, Founder & CEO, udrew
After spending a lifetime within the building industry, specialising as a Geotechnical Analyst, Structural Draftsman and Systems Engineer and with a background in science and engineering, Tom Young taught himself coding and technology. He then built the original udrew beta system following almost a decade of research and development. Tom is driven by passion, curiosity and the desire to learn, and is usually up for a beer and a yarn when time permits.

Fran Lawrence

Fran Lawrence, Director - Corporate Affairs, Cannings Purple
Fran began her career at The West Australian, and her ten years at the paper included stints as commercial property editor and senior finance journalist.  After leaving The West she joined Colliers International as WA Media and Communications Manager, with responsibility for the company's media relations and communications strategy, before moving to leading strategic communications firm Cannings Purple in 2015. Fran now heads up Cannings Purple’s corporate affairs division, and works with a range of property clients across the commercial, residential, construction and development sectors.
