Seven years on from the devastating Brisbane floods, flooded properties still present some of the most challenging valuations in the residential sector.  This seminar will explore key topics and risk assessments affecting both flood affected properties, and those not directly impacted, from a financial, legal and real estate valuation perspective.

Drew Castley AAPI
Partner, Hall & Wilcox

Drew has over 20 years’ experience as an insurance and commercial litigation lawyer. His area of focus has been the defence of professional negligence claims, directors' and officers' claims and medical malpractice.

His commercial dispute practice includes shareholder, partnership and joint venture disputes, domestic and commercial building disputes, injunctive and declaratory relief and administrative law.

Drew advises on risk management for professional service firms.

Drew has been listed in The Best Lawyers in Australia in insurance law, litigation and professional malpractice litigation every year since 2011, he was additionally listed for ethics and professional responsibility practice 2019. He is listed as a preeminent professional indemnity lawyer in Queensland in Doyle's Guide to the Australian Legal Profession.

Frances Rex AAPI has been Senior Manager Property Risk QLD at ANZ Banking Group since 2010 overseeing ANZ’s valuation and other property consultancy panels , providing internal valuation advice and risk assessments for all property classes in Queensland. Frances has been a registered valuer and member of API since 1990, commencing with the State Bank of NSW Carlingford in 1987, moving to Herron Todd White Gold Coast in 1989. Frances has also worked for the residential and commercial/retail divisions of Taylor Byrne and Landmark White within Brisbane, between 1995 and 2010. Frances is currently a Queensland State Committee Member for the Australian Property Institute and a member of  Property Council Queensland Division Council.
