In line with recent and ongoing media attention in regard to foreign investors within the Australian property market, YPP Queensland is pleased to present the final instalment of our Building the Future Series titled “Foreign Investment”. Held at the Story Bridge Hotel, this event will focus on discussing past trends, current activity and the outlook for foreign investors in Australia. Our panel of industry experts will provide their insights and experiences on this topic in relation to property development projects, property acquisitions and disposals, financing and many other facets of the ever changing property industry, including; recent APRA changes, increased scrutiny around lending criteria, availability of funds to developers and end purchasers and impact of changes in legislation and taxation.

Dan Holden is the founding partner of Holden Capital, with responsibility for structuring and arranging senior debt, mezzanine debt, and equity solutions for property-based developments and investments.
Dan’s competitive edge is that he has worked on both sides of the transaction, which allowed him to understand both the Property Development and also the Financing aspects of a transaction. Since 2007, Dan has worked as a consultant on projects with a combined end value of over $3billion.
Since starting HoldenCAPITAL, Dan has been recognised for his success with a range of awards, including #1 Commercial Broker in both Qld and Australia in 2015, 2016 and 2017 Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist and having HoldenCAPITAL recognised as BRW Fast Starter in 2015 and BRW fast 100 in 2017.
Queensland Treasury Corporation
Roger Moloney is an Associate in Client Advisory at Queensland Treasury Corporation (QTC), providing financial and commercial advice on property to the State and its public sector entities, including local governments.
Prior to joining QTC, Roger was previously a Senior Investment Manager at Brisbane Marketing, Brisbane's Economic Development Board. In this role, Roger specialised in international investment attraction to Brisbane in a range of sectors in property including student accommodation which saw over 8,000 new beds to the City since 2015, aged care and senior living and worked on the delivery of a start-up innovation hub, The Capital. Roger has extensive history in property working in both government and private sector including Stockland and Macquarie Bank. Roger holds a Bachelor of Science in Australian Environment, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and also a Master of Business Administration from the University of Queensland.
Executive Director, Ray White Special Projects (Queensland)
Matthew is a registered valuer and holds postgraduate degrees in Property Economics and Town Planning. His career is underpinned by over 10 years of combined Transaction, Advisory, Property Valuation and Town Planning experience across the Residential Development and Commercial sectors.
Since joining Ray White Special Projects (QLD) in 2014 Matthew has been personally involved in over $400 million in completed transactions, and has developed strong relationships with key private and institutional groups at a local, national and international level.
Matthew has previously worked in market leading firms PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Herron Todd White. The skills and experience gained thorughout his career is instrumental to his technical knowledge, commercial acumen and client centric approach today.
Financial Controller, Destination Brisbane
Gerald is responsible for managing all finance and accounting operations.
Gerald has over 15 years’ experience across residential, commercial and retail property developments. Prior to commencing with Destination Brisbane Consortium in September 2016, Gerald was previously with the Mirvac Group commencing as an Accountant and moved rapidly into other roles such as Regional Financial Controller with Mirvac Hotels in 2005 and then on to Financial Controller, Mirvac Qld Developments in 2007. In 2012 the role was expanded to Mirvac Residential National Financial Controller in 2012.
Gerald has extensive and strong experience in analysis and reporting with a financial and commercial focus including advice on project acquisitions and disposal deal structuring.
In addition to excellent interpersonal skills, a strong communicator with the ability to foster excellent working relationships with all levels within and outside of an organisation.
Gerald commenced his career in audit and assurance services with KPMG.
Gerald holds a BComm, qualified Chartered Accountant and GradDipAppFin.
