Lunch & Learn ~ SA Planning Reform (S170830)
The Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 (PDI Act 2016) represents the blueprint for South Australia’s new planning system.
The Act came into operation on 1 April 2017 and will now be introduced in stages over the next 3 years.
The Act promises to change the way planning decisions are made in SA, including:
- establishing a new, independent State Planning Commission
- establishing a new Community Engagement Charter
- delivering new planning tools for professionals and the public
- developing new, faster assessment pathways and a professional accreditation system.
