Please join John Marsden, Senior Manager at Ferrier Hodgson and Chris Kelly, Senior Associate at Thomson Geer as they talk through their experiences at the 'coal face' of receiverships and mortgagee in possession sales. They will provide background on the legal and practical frameworks under which receivers and banks are required to operate and sell land, provide some practical guidance as to how agents and valuers can best assist receivers and banks selling land, and tell some 'war stories' illustrating both 'what and what not to do.

Chris practices in a diverse range of property law, with a strong focus on large property transactions, major commercial leasing and renewable energy and infrastructure projects. With 10 years' experience as a property lawyer, he has expertise in the preparation of numerous property documents with varying levels of complexity, and providing property and transactional advice, in all jurisdictions in Australia.

John Marsden is a Senior Manager at Ferrier Hodgson who has over 10 years’ experience in formal corporate insolvency appointments and strategic business reviews. John has managed a number of large transactions and the ongoing trading of a variety of businesses. John has experience in industries including mining, agriculture, property, retail and hotels.
