Meet Chief Operations Officer, Nick Langey and National Manager - Education Rupert Grayston.

Nick will be providing an overview of the API Corporate Structure - how it has changed, and what is still to change. He will also be providing an update on APIV - what the recent changes to the Tasmanian Legislation will mean for Tasmanian Members; the Director electoral process in 2017; and Risk Management.

Rupert joined the API Team in November last year.  Rupert is a former Deputy Chief Executive of Engineers Australia, where he led reforms in areas including professional certification, conferences, higher education accreditation, technology and governance. He has also been State Manager of the Australian Steel Institute, and started his career as an engineering consultant in Australia and overseas.

Rupert will discuss with members the future skill needs of the industry, and the realigning of CPD Delivery and re-thinking of the CPD Rules.

Luke Roberts

Luke's work interest is in the intersection of public policy, hazard sciences, and spatial decision support and improving the resilience of the Tasmanian community.

Luke will discuss with members the changes in the management of natural hazards coming in to the planning and building space over the next six months. Some of the changes, began to be phased in about 4 years ago with bushfire then landslip, and now coastal hazards.
