The API and REIV take pride in delivering to members the annual State of the Market Seminar which is always both substantive and topical.
The seminar will address five of the property markets integral areas being Retail, Residential, Commercial and Industrial with the keynote address being committed to the Economic Forecast.
Topic: Industrial Market Update
Tony Crabb is an Industry Commentator on the Property and Investment markets and is the National Director of Research with Cushman and Wakefield.
He is an advisor to the Reserve Bank of Australia where he is part of their business liaison unit and also an advisor to the Federal Department of Treasury.
Tony is Chair of the Advisory Board of the Property and Real Estate Faculty at Deakin University.
Tony worked for Savills as their National Head of Research for over 11 years. Based in the Melbourne office, he worked with a team of 9 researchers and oversaw the production of over 250 reports a year. He worked across the sales, leasing, valuations and management divisions of Savills working closely with the teams and their clients.
Tony joined Savills from ISPT where he was responsible for a $100 million listed property portfolio and investment research. Tony also worked as part of the senior management team on the strategic direction of ISPT’s $6 billion portfolio.
Prior to joining Savills Tony spent ten years in equities funds management at Colonial, Institutional Stockbroking at Barclays and as an equities analyst.
Tony has a Bachelor of Arts degree, a Diploma of Financial Services, is a member of the Faculty of Australian Writers, is a graduate of Rogen, has qualifications in equities, futures, options and foreign exchange trading. Tony is the author of four books. Tony also gave a TED talk at TEDx Queenstown in April 2016 on Climate Change and Property.

Zelman’s maintains an impressive track record with clients by developing lasting business relationships which enhances his strengths in negotiating lease properties. With a genuine love of retail and understanding of current trends, Zelman is very creative in sourcing new exciting trends adding a real point of difference.

National Director, Research, JLL
Leigh is a National Director of Research, based in Brisbane. He leads JLL’s residential and alternative sectors research nationally, as well as overseeing Queensland research across all sectors. He also has responsibility for coordinating the firm’s macroeconomic research.
Leigh re-joined JLL in June 2017. He previously worked for JLL for 10 years between 2004 and 2014 and spent the past three years with LaSalle Investment Management. In his previous stint with JLL, he has held national roles leading both office market and retail market research and has provided strategic consulting services to a wide range of private and public sector clients. During his time as national head of Research and Strategy for LaSalle, Leigh was heavily involved the underwriting and investment committee process for numerous major transactions across all sectors, as well as contributing the development of local and regional investment and fund strategy.
Leigh has gained a strong reputation as leading commentator on commercial and residential property markets through quality media coverage and public speaking engagements. He has presented at many industry events run by Property Council of Australia and other groups such as Australian Property Institute, RICs and the Construction Industry Forecasting Council.
Leigh is an experienced industry researcher with over fifteen years’ experience in commercial property and economics. In addition to over 10 years in commercial property analysis and consulting with JLL, Leigh spent nearly three years in research and strategy for LaSalle Investment Management. He also has almost five years’ experience at the start of his career in economics focused roles at the Reserve Bank of Australia and Queensland Treasury.
