The seminar will address five of the property markets integral areas being  Retail, Residential, Commercial and Industrial with the keynote address being committed to the Economic Forecast.

Tony Crabb
Topic: Industrial Market Update  

Tony Crabb is an Industry Commentator on the Property and Investment markets and is the National Director of Research with Cushman and Wakefield.

He is an advisor to the Reserve Bank of Australia where he is part of their business liaison unit and also an advisor to the Federal Department of Treasury.

Tony is Chair of the Advisory Board of the Property and Real Estate Faculty at Deakin University.

Tony worked for Savills as their National Head of Research for over 11 years.  Based in the Melbourne office, he worked with a team of 9 researchers and oversaw the production of over 250 reports a year. He worked across the sales, leasing, valuations and management divisions of Savills working closely with the teams and their clients.

Tony joined Savills from ISPT where he was responsible for a $100 million listed property portfolio and investment research. Tony also worked as part of the senior management team on the strategic direction of ISPT’s $6 billion portfolio.

Prior to joining Savills Tony spent ten years in equities funds management at Colonial, Institutional Stockbroking at Barclays and as an equities analyst.

Tony has a Bachelor of Arts degree, a Diploma of Financial Services, is a member of the Faculty of Australian Writers, is a graduate of Rogen, has qualifications in equities, futures, options and foreign exchange trading. Tony is the author of four books. Tony also gave a TED talk at TEDx Queenstown in April 2016 on Climate Change and Property.

Zelman Ainsworth
Senior Associate Director, Melbourne Retail Services – CBRE
Topic: Retail Market Update

Zelman joined the CBRE - Retail Services’ team after 7 years in the property finance industry. Zelman worked with all major lenders in Australia organizing finance for a variety of different commercial properties across the country. Since joining CBRE, Zelman now focuses exclusively on CBD and inner city retail leasing and has

been involved in a significant number of high profile projects including St Collins Lane, St James, 357 Collins Street, Jam Factory, The Arts Centre, Fed Square, 500 Bourke Street, 500 Collins Street, Rialto Retail, Southern Cross Train Station, InterContinental Hotel and more.

Zelman’s maintains an impressive track record with clients by developing lasting business relationships which enhances his strengths in negotiating lease properties. With a genuine love of retail and understanding of current trends, Zelman is very creative in sourcing new exciting trends adding a real point of difference.

Andrew Ballantyne
National Director, Head of Research Australia, JLL

Andrew joined JLL in July 2007 and is the Head of Research Australia. He manages the largest and most diverse property research team in Australia, which is highly integrated with their research platforms in Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas.

The Australian Research team has 25 professionals covering commercial, residential and alternatives real estate sectors. Andrew is responsible for managing the Australian research platform and participating in a range of initiatives, including: market analysis, forecasting, research client engagement, thought leaderships and product development.

JLL Research offers the most comprehensive and highly regarded Research subscription service in Australia and the Asia Pacific – the Real Estate Intelligence Service (REIS). Established in 1988, the REIS product has the longest time series of property market indicators across the office, retail and industrial sectors.

Andrew is a well-respected commentator and analyst in the commercial property industry. He is widely quoted in the media and presents at industry events hosted by the Property Council of Australia, Australia Property Institute and Construction Forecasting Council.

Andrew is also involved with a number of universities and has guest lectured at University of  Technology Sydney, the University of Melbourne and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT).

Andrew is an experienced industry researcher with fifteen+ years’ experience across the property, management consultancy and logistics industry sectors. He holds an MBA from Durham University Business School, an MA in Applied Research and a BA (Hons) in Business Economics.

Terry McCrann
Journalist 
Topic: Key Economic Update

Terry McCrann has been a journalist for nearly 50 years. He has written a daily commentary on business, the economy and occasionally politics, and the way they all intersect, for 40 years.

His columns run in News Ltd papers across Australia, including the Herald Sun in Melbourne, the Daily Telegraph in Sydney, the Brisbane Courier Mail and the Weekend Australian.

He is regularly sought for commentary on radio and TV and for 20 years provided a commentary on the Nine Network’s Business Sunday.

He has provided critical analysis on the wide range of events and personalities that have shaped the nation, from the entrepreneurs to the politicians.

His commentaries have won him numerous awards.He is a former Graham Perkin Journalist of the year, Financial Journalist of the year, has been twice winner of the Melbourne Press Club’s Golden Quill Award, and is also a Walkley Award winner and has recently been admitted to the Journalism Hall of Fame
