Laura Hartley

Manager, Security Advisory and Awareness

NAB

Laura is a criminologist specialising in cyber safety. She has worked in NAB’s Enterprise Security team for six years, and previously worked in Personal, and Institutional Banking. 

Laura leads NAB’s Security Advisory & Awareness team, which works with NAB’s employees, customers, and the community to empower them to keep themselves safe online and in the physical world.

 

Paul Byrne

CEO, Amplify Intelligence

 

Paul is the CEO and Founder of Amplify Intelligence with two decades of Cybersecurity experience and at the forefront of re-thinking Cyber Security. Paul leads a team who take a fresh look at the Cybersecurity space and create solutions that bring the best of technology and people together to support Australia's vital sector, small business.

Paul brings two decades of Cybersecurity experience, previously Deloitte's global SME and national director in the areas of Penetration Testing and Cyber Incident Response. He has worked across the US, Europe, and Asia in various companies for clients such as Microsoft, Sony, Barclays, CBA, Telstra, as well as Defence and government organisations globally. 

While working at NAB building capabilities to identify and prevent cybercriminals from stealing customers' money. He realised more needed to be done to help Australian small businesses who lacked the enterprise security required to protect businesses from the rapid pace of change in the cyber threat landscape. 

With a focus on developing better ways to manage cyber risk, Paul is passionate about simplifying the complexity of Cybersecurity and empowering businesses teams to measure and manage them and stay ahead of cybercriminals.

 

 

Corey McMahon

Managing Director, Lee Property Valuers and Advisors

 

Corey McMahon is the Managing Director and a Senior Valuer at Lee Property Valuers & Advisors.

Corey has been instrumental in restructuring the business to provide a more technologically advanced operating platform and efficient service to major banking clients.

Corey has expanded the service offerings of the business to clients, has the key role of business development, and maintains cohesive client relationships.

Corey had the foresight to recognise the critical importance of Data Security and Compliance in the valuation profession, prior to the industry introducing regulations in 2019. 

He appointed a team of experts to lead the industry by being the first valuation firm in Australia to gain ISO 27001 ISMS accreditation in October 2018.   

Corey is working collaboratively with multiple clients to educate key stake-holders about the critical functions and application of Data Security and Compliance.

He recently started the private consultancy firm, Property Data Security Services, in order to assist the industry to transition to Internationally Recognised secure data custodianship. 

He has also been requested to present at the API National Conference 2019 on Understanding ISO/IEC 27001: A Case Study. This is a must attend session for those businesses seeking direction on how to gain ISO 27001 ISMS accreditation.

 

 

John Moushall

Chief Strategy Officer, Lee Property Valuers and Advisors

 

John was a Forensic Crime Scene Examiner with the Victoria Police in his early career which led to his following strict process protocols. 

He has worked in medical device manufacture in Thailand and the USA, manufacturing pharmaceuticals and veterinary pathology in Australia.  All highly regulated industries.

John’s most recent position was as General Manager Assurance for six countries in the Asian region and Global General Manager for product certification for SAI Global, a compliance and certification business with operations in 31 countries.

John managed certification, risk, compliance and system requirements to standards and products across industries for IT security, Food, Forestry, Aerospace, Automotive, and board governance. John has overseen major IT program rollouts across Australia and Asia.

John’s business career has focused on operations with a pragmatic approach to meeting the required governance and compliance. John holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemistry, an EMBA in international business and has a post graduate diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
