6:00pm Thursday, 20 February 2020
Seminar
The Capital Building
155 Queen Street
Brisbane, Queensland 4000
Australia

Since the events of London's Grenfell Tower where 72 people died, cladding has become an important topic in Australia. With hundreds of buildings being identified of having non-compliant cladding, it's important to know what's happened, the outlook for 2020 and how to identify and mitigate risk.

Presenters will explore:

  • The safer building program - a collaborative audit to identify cladding fire risk
  • Rebuilding market and consumer confidence
  • Cladding material - the difference between a compliant and 'non' compliant product
  • An overview of the legislation

Presenters will then lead the room through a Q&A

Presenters

  • Ted Simmonds - Director NCBP & Safer Building - Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC)
  • Ceri McDonald - Special Counsel - Hall & Wilcox
  • Bethan Lewis - Senior Building Consultant - CBRE
  • Bevan Richardson - Director Government QA - Acumentis
