Cancellation, Registration and Privacy Policy for Face to Face API Events

This policy applies for all API Events which are not undertaken wholly in an online environment.

Registrations are accepted in order of receipt to the maximum number of attendees, including unpaid registrations. A registration received without payment is confirmation of attendance and will incur cancellation fees in accordance with this policy.

Cancellation Policy

For events of up to 4 hours duration 1

  • A full refund will be issued to registrations cancelled in writing no less than three (3) business days prior to the start of the event.
  • Cancellations made within three (3) business days prior to the start of the event, are non-refundable.
  • Registrations are fully transferable to another person, however, if a Member transfers registration to a non-member the difference in registration fee is payable.

For events where lunch, breakfast or dinner is served 2

  • A full refund will be issued to registrations cancelled in writing no less than ten (10) business days prior to the start of the event.
  • Cancellations made within the ten (10) business days prior to the start of the event, are non-refundable.
  • Registrations are fully transferable to another person, however, if a Member transfers registration to a non-member the difference in registration fee is payable.

For events of more than 4 hours duration 1,2 

  • An Administrative Fee will be charged for any cancellations received up to ten (10) business days prior to the event.  The Adminsitrative Fee will be equal to 25% of the attendance fee.
  • Cancellations made within the ten (10) business days prior to the start of the event, are non-refundable.
  • Registrations are fully transferable to another person, however, if a Member transfers registration to a non-member the difference in registration fee is payable.
1This four (4) hour timeframe is calculated as the time from the offical start to the official close of the event.  For multi-day events, this time is calculated as the official start on the first day to the official close on the final day.
 
2If a breakfast, dinner or lunch is served:
   - as part of an event of more than 4 hours duration, the policy For events of more than 4 hours duration will apply
   - as part of an event of up to 4 hours duration, the policy For events where lunch, breakfast or dinner is served will apply

Details regarding any API Event were confirmed and correct at the time of posting/publishing. The API reserves the right to cancel, postpone or amend an Event at any time if required. The API does not accept responsibility for loss of travel and/or accommodation expenses.

Image Release
In registering for this event, attendees grant permission to the Australian Property Institute (API), its agents and others working under its authority, to take and to have full and free use of video/photographs containing their image/likeness. It is understood these images may be used for promotional, news, on-line/multimedia, research and/or educational purposes by and for API. Attendees agree that they are not entitled to remuneration, residuals, royalties or any other payment from API in respect of their image/likeness or its use. Attendees release, discharge, and hold harmless, API and its agents from any and all claims, demands or causes of actions that they may hereafter have by reason of anything contained in the photographs or video. Should an attendee not agree to the above image release, they must advise the API in writing.

Behaviour
The Australian Property Institute reserves the right to prohibit entry of any person to an API event, or eject any person from an API event based on behaviour deemed inappropriate by API staff and/or its agents and others working under its authority. Canvassing by attendees is strictly prohibited at API events. Promotional materials may not be distributed at the event except by event sponsors and exhibitors. Attendees violating this policy will be asked to leave the event.

Parallel Session Selection
When registering for an API event which offers parallel sessions, it is understood that parallel session selections are a preference only used for planning purposes and do not guarantee a place in the session. Onsite, if a session reaches capacity you will be asked to attend an alternative session for health and safety reasons.

Insurance
Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is recommended that all delegates take out their own travel and medical insurance before attending an API event. The policy should include loss of fees/deposit through cancellation of the event itself, loss of airfares and travel expenses for any reason, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property, additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered. The API will not take any responsibility for any participant failing to insure. The Registration and Cancellation Policy will be strictly enforced.


Privacy Policy

The Australian Property Institute (API) requires the information provided by you on this form in order to administer and manage your registration and provide the event to you. If you do not provide all the relevant information then the form may not be processed. Please also note that the API may provide your personal information to third party service providers or with selected event sponsors in order to conduct the event. Generally speaking, you can access your personal information by contacting the API.
