Founded in 1926 as the Commonwealth Institute of Valuers, the Institute has evolved over time, adapting to the changing needs and influences of the property profession. We are a National body with over 8,000 Members each of whom is a professional involved in the valuation, administration and use of land, property, and plant and machinery. Members of the Institute include valuers, professional property advisors, analysts and facilitators and all share a common attribute - they are property experts.   The API sets and maintains the highest standards of professional practice, education, ethics and discipline.
