Provisional Membership with Residential Property Valuer recognises those who have completed one of the API's accredited courses and have at least one year of experience in residential property valuation:

  • Graduates of accredited University courses with less than two years of property experience but at least one year of residential valuation experience may apply for Provisional Membership with Residential Property Valuer (RPV)
  • Graduates of accredited TAFE courses who have more than one year of residential valuation experience may apply for Provisional Membership with Residential
    Property Valuer (RPV)


Please use the following steps to ensure your application is complete;
Please note the API requests that applications are not submitted until completed.

  1. Read the Explanatory Notes - Download here
  2. Complete the Membership Application Form, attaching all requested documents (including your academic transcript) - Download here
  3. Distribute blank Referee Reports to the referees nominated on your Application Form.  Collate those that are returned directly to you (exclude only those reports where the referee has advised you that they wish to return the report direct to the API).Download Template
  4. Attach the required work samples (see page 7 of the Application Form for more details)
  5. Submit the complete Application to your local API office  - Click to find local office

 

Experience Journal

It is now a requirement when applying for the designation of Residential Property Valuer that an Experience Journal be provided.  Templates are available for download below.   Applicants who are working toward such should start to keep this information immediately.
