On behalf of the Australian Property Institute I am delighted to invite our Pacific neighbours to share this iconic city for the 26th Pan Pacific Congress in October 2012. The Organising Committee is planning a comprehensive and informative program but in the true Australian tradition there will be plenty of time and many opportunities to enjoy the sun, surf, beaches, the unique flora and fauna and warm, friendly people.
Come and experience what Melbourne has to offer. We look forward to greeting you at the 26th Pan Pacific Congress in 2012.
Call for abstracts are open from the 17th of January 2012. Please submit your abstract at the Pan Pacifics website, www.2012panpac.api.org.au.

Programme Topics include:
In 2009, the new Melbourne Convention Centre opened as part of a major US$1.3 billion development project in the new South Wharf precinct, by the Yarra River in central Melbourne. This exciting new development created one of the world's most versatile convention and exhibition districts. In addition to incorporating the new Melbourne Convention Centre, South Wharf includes a new Hilton hotel, a residential tower and a spectacular riverfront precinct for shopping, dining and experiencing all that Melbourne has to offer. The development complements the existing Southbank precinct, home to Crown Entertainment Complex and world-celebrated restaurants, such as Nobu, Rockpool and Bistro Guillaume, boutique shopping, alfresco cafés and Crown Casino. As well as becoming a major Melbourne landmark, the new Centre has also set unprecedented environmental standards; it has already been awarded the world's only Six-Star, Green Star environmental rating for its innovative, environmentally friendly design.

Melbourne, Victoria
Named the most liveable city in the world
Visitors will find that Melbourne is an exciting city to explore. Modern architecture and design is juxtaposed with heritage buildings reflecting Australia's unique history. But beneath the city's impressive façade, lies the true heart and soul of the city; laneways which snake the city grid to reveal cafés and bars, fashion houses, boutiques, innovative cuisine, galleries, theatres and museums.
Within an hour's drive of the city, visitors can enjoy some of Australia's most spectacular coastlines, wildlife reserves, wineries, temperate rainforests, surf beaches and historic townships.
Also on offer in and around Melbourne is the opportunity to learn about Australia's Indigenous past and present.
